About Us

Dennis and Wanda Landry dedicated their time, talent, and resources to the St. Patrick's community from the late 1960s through the 1980s, leaving an indelible mark on the school's athletic programs. Mr. Landry initiated the 6th-grade basketball tournament at St. Pat's in 1969, an event that has become a cherished tradition and continues to thrive to this day. Throughout the 1980s, he also served as a coach for boys' basketball, imparting his passion for the sport to young athletes.

Meanwhile, Mrs. Landry embarked on her own journey of contribution by commencing her tenure as a Physical Education teacher in 1970. With the support of Sister Mary Ann, she took the helm in establishing and coaching the girls' softball, track, and volleyball programs, nurturing and empowering countless female athletes over the years.

Their combined coaching experience spanned an impressive 30 years, during which they left an indelible impact on generations of students at St. Pat's. In recognition of their unwavering dedication, the Coach Landry Scholarship Foundation was established.

This foundation, driven by the spirit of the Landrys' commitment to education and athletics, aims to support the next generation of young athletes at St. Pat's.

In May 2023, the Coach Landry Scholarship Foundation proudly awarded its inaugural scholarships, providing three deserving 5th, 6th, and 7th graders with $1000 each to pursue their academic and athletic aspirations. Additionally, in September 2022, a reception was held to honor the Landrys' enduring legacy and their profound impact on the St. Pat's athletic program. The event brought together alumni, friends, and supporters whose generous contributions facilitated the establishment of the Coach Landry Scholarship Foundation, ensuring that the Landrys' legacy of excellence and mentorship continues to thrive for years to come.
